
On November 28, 2024, KCA University marked a historic milestone with the installation of FCPA Dr Martin Oduor as the new Chancellor. The grand occasion at the Main Campus symbolized a new chapter in the university’s journey of academic excellence, innovation, and community transformation.
The installation ceremony was a vibrant celebration attended by distinguished guests, including Vice Chancellors from other universities, KCA University Board of Trustees, Council members, faculty, students, alums, and other stakeholders. The air was filled with excitement as the university community came together to honor the legacy of outgoing Chancellor Prof. Olive Mugenda and welcome Dr. Oduor into the esteemed role.
FCPA Dr. Martin Oduor, a distinguished accountant and accomplished academic, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. With a career spanning decades in finance, governance, and academia, Dr. Oduor has consistently demonstrated a commitment to ethical leadership and societal development. As the university’s third Chancellor, he assumes the mantle of guiding KCA University through an era marked by rapid technological advancements, evolving educational needs, and societal challenges.
Dr. Oduor shared an inspiring vision for KCA University’s future in his inaugural address. “This is a momentous time for higher education, calling for bold leadership, innovation, and a relentless focus on societal impact. KCA University has a unique role in shaping the future by equipping students with not just knowledge but also the values and skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world,” he remarked.
Dr. Oduor emphasized the importance of aligning academic programs with industry demands, fostering a culture of research and innovation, and strengthening community engagement. He also highlighted the need for universities to embrace sustainability in all operations. “Our responsibility extends beyond the classroom. We must be drivers of sustainable development, addressing pressing global challenges such as climate change, inequality, and digital transformation,” he said.
