Fountain Design Competition

KCA University intends to put up a fountain near the main gate entrance at Ruaraka. In this regard, the University is inviting interested individuals or groups of bonafide students of KCA University to a context for the design of the fountain. The goal of the competition is to generate a wide variety of unique, innovative and thoughtful design ideas that not only bring out the identity of KCA University but also commemorate different events that have shaped its identity.

Those interested will be required to submit the design concept, technical drawings of the proposed design and a statement that explains the work. The visual elements of the design must be “iconic in nature” while still considering sustainability and green initiatives. Up to three (3) winning designs will be selected.

Fountain Design Should Be

  • Unique
  • Aesthetic
  • Cost-effective
  • Simple and easy to build
  • The fountain must maintain the recycling of water without spilling off the basin

Expected Outcome

  • Bring out KCA University’s identify
  • The fountain should supply a recycled flow of water without spilling off the basin
  • The fountain should be able to withstand environmental factors
  • The fountain should stand out and attract attention

Notes:

  • The bidders should transfer copyright, intellectual property and patent relating to their designs
  • he winning contestants will be awarded cash rewards as follows:
    1. First prize- Kshs. 30,000
    2. First runners up- Kshs. 20,000
    3. Second runners up- Kshs. 10,000
  • The proposals and sketch designs should be submitted via email to dvcfpd@kcau.ac.ke by 17th October 2022

The University reserves the right to accept or reject any tender.
