Dr. Mwirigi Kiula is an ICT professional, scholar and enthusiast of digital transformation. He has over 18 years of experience in ICT operations, management, policy and strategy, leadership and governance. He is currently leading the digital transformation agenda at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) as the Deputy Director, ICT & Innovation. In this capacity he has led the implementation of a digital healthcare journey through the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and mobile apps as well as the incubation of novel medical solutions through the Medical Innovation and Accelerator Hub (MIAH). Previously he served as the ICT Director, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) 2011-2012 and 2015-2020, Member of the Management Board, Kenya Education Network (KENET) in 2012-2019 and Deputy Director, JKUAT Industrial Park, 2013-2015. He was the Project Manager for the citizen experience transformation projects at the County Government of Nandi, 2018-2019, the National Authority for the Control of Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA), 2018 and the Ethics and Leadership Automation Project of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in 2017-2019 as well as a Core Team Member for the Northern Corridor Integrated Projects Comprehensive Skills Analysis (CSA) and Human Resource Capacity Building (HRCB) Strategy covering Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan in 2015-2017. He is a member of the National Quality Institute (MNQI) and the Kenya Institute of Management (MKIM). He has authored two books, “Leadership Orchestration: The Catalyst for Digital Transformation,” 2019 and “End of a Life in Bondage: The Ultimate Transformation,” 2017. He holds a Ph.D., Leadership and Governance (2018), M.Sc., ICT Policy and Regulation (2010) and B.Sc., Computer Science (2004) of JKUAT, Kenya.
