JOB OBJECTIVE

  • The position holder shall be responsible for training and providing technical support to Open and Distance Education (ODE) instructors and learners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS), including setting up
  • accounts and courses.
  • Train instructors and learners in LMS technology-related practices and procedures
  • as directed.
  • Support instructors and learners in the use of the LMS and other teaching and
  • learning tools.
  • Provide technical support to users regarding the LMS functionality, navigation, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist users with course creation, enrolment, and management within the LMS platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to course content, quizzes, assignments, and grades
  • Execute and restore the LMS backups in collaboration with the Coordinator,
  • Information Technology and Technical Support.
  • Support instructors in the adoption of new and current online pedagogical techniques.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend emerging educational technologies.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors’ degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Information Technology or any relevant degree in Computing
  • Linux Administration and/or MySQL Database Administration certification will be an added advantage.

OTHER SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • At least three (3) year’s proven experience in working with the administration and technical support in Moodle LMS
  • Experience in online user training and technical support.
  • Experience working with multi-media authoring tools, collaborative tools, and digital learning materials.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience in technical support or user support roles, preferably with a focus on Moodle LMS.
  • Strong understanding of Moodle LMS functionality, administration, and customization options.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues related to Moodle LMS course management, permissions, and access
